Funding For Apprenticeships

You can get help from the government to pay for apprenticeship training!

The amount you get depends on whether you pay the Apprenticeship levy or not. You pay the levy if you’re an employer with a pay bill over £3 million each year.

Levy

What is Levy Funded?

Don’t worry we are here to help – To be eligible for the apprenticeship levy, employers must earn an annual pay bill of £3 million. This will help you to support your employees development, enhance existing skills or learn new ones all together. Want to find out how you can make the most of your Levy, contact us at …

How do you access the Levy?

To access your Levy you must first sign up to the (DAS) commonly known as the Digital Apprenticeship Service, if you need help or guidance with this feel free to contact us. By setting this up you will be able to control all relevant tasks such as, adding apprentices, recruiting apprentices and finding suitable training. You will also be able to see how much is in your account and allocate payments to providers of government-approved apprenticeships. With help from Total Training we will be able to decide what apprenticeship programme will be best suited to your business! Find below the link to the DAS and for more information and guidance, please get in touch.

Non-Levy

If you do not need to pay the levy

  • You pay 5% towards the cost of training and assessing your apprentice. You need to:
  • agree a payment schedule with the training provider
  • pay them directly for the training
  • The government will pay the rest (95%) up to the funding band maximum. They’ll pay it directly to the training provider.
