First Aid at Work (Blended)
Designed for higher-risk workplaces, this First Aid at Work course meets Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements and combines online learning with practical, face-to-face training to provide comprehensive preparation for workplace emergencies.
The course is delivered in two parts.
Part 1 – E-learning (approx. 6 hours):
Learners complete an interactive online module covering key first aid principles, including the role and responsibilities of a first aider, assessing emergency situations, and responding safely and effectively. The module concludes with a multiple-choice assessment to confirm understanding.
Part 2 – Two-Day Practical Training:
Learners attend two days of instructor-led training to develop and demonstrate essential first aid skills through practical exercises and scenario-based learning.
Course content includes: managing unresponsive casualties (including seizures), CPR and use of an AED, choking, bleeding, and shock. Learners also cover treatment of minor injuries, burns, fractures, chest and eye injuries, spinal injuries, poisoning, and anaphylaxis. The course also addresses major illnesses such as heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, and diabetes.
On successful completion, participants gain a recognised First Aid at Work qualification and the confidence and competence to respond effectively in higher-risk workplace emergencies.
