Paediatric First Aid (Blended)
Our Level 3 Paediatric First Aid (Blended) course is designed for childcare professionals and learners who work, or intend to work, in early years and childcare settings. This engaging programme combines the flexibility of 6 hours of online e-learning with a 6-hour face-to-face practical session, giving you both the knowledge and hands-on confidence needed to respond effectively to paediatric emergencies. The course meets and exceeds the recommendations of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, ensuring your training is fully compliant and up to date. For added convenience, our experienced instructors can deliver the practical training at your premises or preferred venue.
Throughout the course, you will learn essential life-saving skills including scene assessment, the role of the first aider, and how to carry out primary and secondary surveys. You will be trained to manage unconscious breathing and non-breathing casualties, perform infant and child CPR, and safely use an AED. The programme also covers the correct use of first aid kits, choking procedures for infants and children, seizures and febrile convulsions, asthma and croup, anaphylaxis, and shock. In addition, learners will explore how to treat wounds, bleeding, burns, poisoning, serious injuries, sprains, strains, and head injuries, as well as how to recognise and respond to medical conditions such as sickle cell disease, meningitis, diabetes, and heat- and cold-related illnesses within a childcare setting.
