One of those success stories is Izzy, a Training Consultant working with the SAMEE charity, who began her Level 5 Coaching Professional apprenticeship through Total Training Provision, fully funded by gifted levy funds from TTEC Solutions Ltd

Meet Izzy –

“I’m Izzy, a 34-year-old living on the southwest coast of England,” she begins.

Working across several freelance projects, Izzy supports SAMEE, a charity that delivers supported self-employment internships for people with additional needs.

When an opportunity appeared through her employer to access apprenticeship funding, Izzy jumped at it — despite it coming as a bit of a surprise.

Choosing the Right Path

Having already completed a Level 3 Apprenticeship earlier in her career, Izzy knew the value of learning on the job — but this time around, the experience was entirely different.

“There’s definitely been a jump between Level 3 and Level 5 — but it’s one I’ve really enjoyed. I wanted to be pushed and challenged, and Amy, my skills coach at Total Training, has absolutely done that.”

Izzy shared that her neurodivergent experience has been embraced and supported from day one — something that has made all the difference.

“Amy has been incredible. She’s adapted everything to suit how my brain works and made learning a genuinely inclusive and positive experience.”

“It’s refreshing to be part of a learning journey where inclusion isn’t a tick-box exercise — it’s lived and breathed.”

Real Growth and Future Goals

The apprenticeship has already started to shape Izzy’s confidence, reflection, and awareness in her role.

She’s applying her learning daily and is passionate about using her coaching skills to support others in a way that’s neuro-inclusive.

“I’ve realised how much I love variety — and coaching gives me that connection and sense of purpose. I want to offer the same support I’ve been lucky enough to receive.”

Izzy’s long-term goal is to progress into neuro-inclusive coaching, inspired by the work of Leanne Maskell, who pioneered the first “AuDHD Coaching Qualification” in the UK.

A Message to Others

When asked what advice she’d give to others considering an apprenticeship, Izzy said:

“Apprenticeships can be a really positive route, especially if you’re neurodivergent or have additional access requirements. It gives you the balance of work and learning that can really help you thrive — but it’s all about finding the right provider.

For me, Total Training have been that provider.”
