What does this qualification cover?
This Level 2 qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance develops your understanding of the key principles involved in supporting individuals through clear, accurate and ethical IAG practice. It covers the differences between providing information, offering advice and giving guidance, and helps you build essential communication skills such as active listening, effective questioning and maintaining professional boundaries.
You will also learn how to assess client needs, research and present reliable information, and make appropriate referrals to other services. The course explores legal and organisational requirements—including confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection—and highlights the importance of equality, diversity and inclusive practice. Together, these skills prepare you to deliver confident, person-centred IAG in a wide range of work settings.
